Griffith

Town in Lake County, northwest Indiana; population (1990) 17,900. It is situated to the southwest of Gary, in the highly industrialized Calumet area, to the south of Lake Michigan. It produces metal products, castings, photographic supplies, and paper products, and is a residential suburb for such cities as East Chicago, Hammond, and Gary.
