Griffith, Clark

Griffith, Clark (Calvin) (1869–1955)

US baseball player, manager, and executive. During his remarkable baseball career he was one of the game's great (right-handed) pitchers for 21 years (1891–1914), a manager for 20 years (1901–20), and the president of the Washington Senators American League club for 26 years (1920–55). He was elected to baseball's Hall of Fame in 1946. He was born in Clear Creek, Missouri.
