Grindelwald

Valley and town in the canton of Bern, Switzerland, in the Bernese Alps; altitude 1,040 m/3,412 ft; population (1995) 4,100. Grindelwald is a popular sports resort in both summer and winter. The towering north face of the Eiger dominates the town.
