Groening, Matt

    0.04 sec.

Groening, Matt(hew) (1954– )

US animator, writer, and producer. He created the irreverent cartoon The Simpsons, the first animated prime-time series in the USA for 20 years. It debuted in 1990 on Fox television and quickly became the network's highest-rated programme. Groening launched his second animated series, Futurama, in 1999.

His success as a cartoonist began with his cynical Life in Hell comic strip, which led to a series of books including Work is Hell, Love Is Hell, Childhood is Hell, and School is Hell. A feature film The Simpsons Movie was released in 2007.
