Grofé, Ferde (1892-1972)

US composer and arranger. He worked as an arranger for the Paul Whiteman band, and in 1924 arranged George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. His own music includes Mississippi Suite, Hollywood Suite, and the well-known Grand Canyon Suite, which was premiered under Paul Whiteman in 1931.
