Grudzi̧dz| Town in Toruń province, Poland, on the River Vistula, 64 km/40 mi northeast of Bydgoszcz; population (2002) 100,400. Manufactures include chemicals, machinery, and glass, and timber and agricultural produce are traded. The town has a castle of the Teutonic Knights (a German Christian military order), and was part of Prussia 1772–1920. |
