Gruzenberg, Mikhail (1884-1952)

Russian communist. From 1918 he worked as an agent of the Communist International. In 1923 he was invited by Sun Zhong Shan (Sun Yat-sen) to China, and until 1927 acted as high adviser to the Central Executive Committee of the Guomindang. He returned to Russia, was arrested in a Stalinist purge in 1949, and died in a Siberian labour camp.
