Guadalaviar

River in eastern Spain, rising in the Sierra de Albarracín in the province of Teruel; length 320 km/199 mi. It flows east to the town of Teruel, from which point it is usually called the Turia, then curves south to the Mediterranean Sea near Valencia. It is an important source of irrigation for the agricultural plain of Valencia.
