Guanabara

Former maritime state of Brazil. When Brasilia became the federal capital in 1960, the Federal District of Rio de Janeiro became the state of Guanabara. From 15 March 1975, however, the state of Guanabara has been incorporated within the state of Rio de Janeiro .
