| A thin layer of ash fell on the nearby towns of Camalig, Guinobatan and Ligao on Mayon's southwestern foothills. in 2006 killed about 1,000 people in the town of Guinobatan, left countless others in need of medical attention that was not available and destroyed the only very ramshackle medical centres. The Albay-Donsol road is separate from the P854-million Guinobatan-Camalig-Daraga-Legazpi (Guicadale) platform, a network of circumferential and new arterial roads that would start from the urban centers of this city and the municipalities of Daraga, Camalig, Guinobatan and Jovellar. |
