Guinobatan

Town in Albay province on southeast Luzon Island in the Philippines; population (1990) 58,900. Guinobatan lies in a major hemp-producing region, and has a food-processing industry.

A thin layer of ash fell on the nearby towns of Camalig, Guinobatan and Ligao on Mayon's southwestern foothills.
