Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf

Arab organization for promoting peace in the Gulf area, established in 1981. Its declared purpose is ‘to bring about integration, coordination, and cooperation in economic, social, defence, and political affairs among Arab Gulf states’. Its members include Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates; its headquarters are in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
