Mastic

Village in Brookhaven town, Suffolk County, southeastern New York State; population (1990) 13,800. This mainly residential settlement is located on Long Island's South Shore, where the estuarial Forge River enters Moriches Bay.

The village of Mastic Beach (population 10,300), which lies just southwest on Narrow Bay opposite Fire Island, is a residential and resort community.
