Gunther, Gerald

Gunther, Gerald (1927– )

German-born US legal scholar. An expert in constitutional law, he wrote Individual Rights in Constitutional Law (1970). Gunther was born in Usingen, Germany, and emigrated to the USA in 1938, where he received his education. He worked briefly as a law clerk before joining the faculty at Columbia University (1956–62) and then Stanford University (1962).
