Gurnee

Town in Lake County, northeast Illinois; population (1990) 13,700. It is situated on the Du Page River. Gurnee is a suburb lying to the west of Waukegan and 56 km/35 mi north-northwest of Chicago. Originally settled along the Chicago, Milwaukee and St Paul Railroad, it is now a residential community. Gurnee Mills is one of the world's largest outlet malls. There is also a Six Flags theme park in the town.
