Guy, Barry (1947– )

English composer and double bass player. His early interest was in jazz; he later studied at the Guildhall School of Music with Buxton Orr and Patric Standford. Since he formed the Jazz Composers' Orchestra in 1971 his works have combined improvisatory with more controlled avant-garde techniques.
