Haas, Joseph (1879-1960)

German composer. He was pupil of Reger at Munich and then at the Leipzig Conservatory. He taught composition at Stuttgart from 1911 and at Munich from 1921.

Works

operas Tobias Wunderlich (1937) and Die Hochzeit des Jobs (1944); choral works; serenade for orchestra; two string quartets, divertimento for string trio, trio for two cellos and piano, and other chamber music; sonata and sonatina for violin and piano; many piano works; organ pieces; songs.
