Haas, Robert (Maria) (1886–1960)

Austrian musicologist. He edited the original versions of Anton Bruckner's works 1932–42, and was succeeded in this task by Leopold Nowak. He wrote books on baroque music, musical performance, Mozart, and Bruckner.

Haas received a doctorate from Prague University and became assistant to the musicologist Guido Adler. He later became a lecturer at Vienna University and director of the music department of the State Library there.
