Haas, Walter A, Jr (1916-1995)

US business executive. The son of Walter A Haas, Sr, the head of world's leading manufacturer of blue jeans, Levi Strauss, he enjoyed a lengthy association with the company (1946-71), variously serving as vice-president, president, and chairman of the board of directors. In 1980 he purchased the Oakland Athletics baseball team. Haas was born in San Francisco, California.
