Haendel, Ida (1924– )

British violinist. She studied in Warsaw and with Flesch and Enescu. She made her British debut in 1937 at a Promenade concert, under Wood, gave further concerts in London throughout the war, and toured the USA 1946–47. She has lived in Canada since 1952. She was a popular performer of the standard repertory, and played Britten's concerto at the 1994 London Promenade concerts.
