Haessler, Johann Wilhelm (1747-1822)

German pianist, organist, and composer. He was a pupil of the organist Kittel, and of Bach. He travelled widely, establishing concerts at Erfurt in 1780, and visiting London and St Petersburg 1790-94, then settled in Moscow.

piano sonatas, Grande Gigue in D minor and many other works for piano, organ works; songs.
