Hageman, Richard (1882–1966)

Dutch-US conductor and composer. He studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory, where his father was director, and later at the Brussels Conservatory. He was appointed conductor of the Amsterdam Opera and in 1907 settled in the USA, where he conducted opera and concerts in various cities. From 1908 to 1922 he conducted at the Metropolitan Opera House Opera in New York.

opera Caponsacchi (produced at Freiburg im Breisgau in 1932); many songs, including At the Well.
