Haguenau

French town in the département of Bas-Rhin, on the River Moder, in the Haguenau forest; population (2001 est) 32,800. In 1154 it became a town and in 1257 it was made a free imperial city. Haguenau has two old churches, dating from the 13th and 14th centuries. It manufactures carpets, machinery, oil, and leather goods, and has a hop market.
