Halgrimson, Amanda (1956– )

US soprano. She has sung at opera houses in 32 US states, notably as Fiordiligi, Norina, and Rosalinde. In 1987 she toured with the Texas Opera as Lucia, and in 1988 she made her European debut as the Queen of the Night with the Netherlands Opera (a role she repeated for the Geneva Opera in 1994). She sang with the Deutsche Oper Berlin from 1991, and also performed opera at Houston and Vienna. She sang Mozart's Donna Anna with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra under Simon Rattle in 1993, and also did other concerts with Roger Norrington (Missa Solemnis at Boston in 1993) and G Gelmetti (Beethoven's Ninth). She sang Mozart's Requiem on tour in Europe in 1991.
