Halleck, Fitz-Greene (1790-1867)

US poet. His work includes Fanny 1820, a satire on contemporary literature, fashions, and politics, and ‘Marco Bozzaris’ 1825.

In 1832 he became secretary to John Jacob Astor, who left him an annuity upon which he retired in 1849.
