Halling

Norwegian dance originating from the Hallingdal between Oslo and Bergen. It is usually in 2/4 time and goes at a moderately quick pace. In its early form, as distinct from that cultivated by Edvard Grieg and other composers, its music is played on the Hardanger fiddle.
