Handley, Vernon (1930- )

English conductor. He studied at Oxford and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and made his debut with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in 1961. He conducted and taught at the Royal College of Music in London 1966-72. From 1970 he gave concerts with the London Symphony Orchestra and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and frequent performances of British music with the BBC. he conducted the Ulster Orchestra 1985-89, and the Malmö Symphony Orchestra 1985-91.
