Hands, Terry (1941– )

English theatre and opera director. He founded the Liverpool Everyman Theatre in 1964, and was Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company 1986–91 (he joined the company in 1966). He won the SWET Director of the Year Award for his production of Henry VI parts I, II, and III in 1978. He directed Parsifal for the Royal Opera Company in 1979. He has also directed Shakespearean plays for the Comédie Française.
