Hara Matsuri

Japanese Mahāyāna Buddhist festival, celebrating the birth of the Buddha. It is held in April, and commemorated by the planting of a grove of flowers. Images of the Buddha as a child are bathed in scented water or tea, and offerings are made at temples and shrines.
