Hardy, Thomas Duffus (1804–1878)

English scholar and archivist. He became deputy keeper at the Record Office 1861, and in 1869 acted for the Historical Manuscripts Commission. In 1848 he published Monumenta Historica, and he also edited many of the Rolls of early times and historical catalogues and registers.

These include A Catalogue of the Lords Chancellors, Keepers of the Great Seal, Masters of the Rolls and Principal Officers of the High Court of Chancery 1843, Descriptive Catalogue of the Materials relating to the History of Great Britain and Ireland to the End of the Reign of Henry VII 1862–71, and The Register of Richard de Kellawe 1873.
