This is a relatively early stereo recording that still sounds very well more than 40 years on: the discs are filled out with an earlier (1955) mono recording of Berlioz's Harold en Italie, with Markevitch leading the Berlin Philharmonic and viola soloist Heinz Kirchner.
The first is the "subscription concert" Berlioz: the composer known for his concert overtures, the Symphonie Fantastique and, on a good day, the Harold en Italie viola concerto.
