Harriman

City in Roane County, eastern Tennessee; population (1990) 7,100. Harriman lies 56 km/35 mi west of Knoxville, on the Emory River where it cuts through Walden Ridge. It is a trade and shipping centre for lumber, farm, and quarry products. Just south of the city is the northern end of Watts Bar Lake. The Oak Ridge complex is 16 km/10 mi east.
