Harrison, Wallace Kirkman

Harrison, Wallace Kirkman (1895-1981)

US architect, formerly professor of design at Columbia University. He began practice in 1927 and was one of the team of architects who designed the Rockefeller Centre 1931-40. An effective coordinator of large-scale architectural projects, he was director for the UN Building, New York (1947-53), and overall design coordinator for the Lincoln Center, New York (1962). He designed the Alcoa Building, Pittsburgh (1953), as well as the Time & Life Building (1960) and headquarters of the Exxon Corporation (1973) in New York City.
