Hungarian composer. He studied at the Budapest Conservatory under Kodály and settled in Paris in 1923.

operas Illusion, Les Invités (1928); ballets The Last Dream and Shota Roustaveli (1945) (with Honegger and Alexander Tcherepnin); Christmas Cantata for chorus and strings (1939); suite, Suite hongroise, Ouverture symphonique, La Joie de vivre for orchestra; Concertstück for piano and orchestra, Divertimento No. 1 for two violins and orchestra; Aria and Rondo for cello and orchestra, Divertimento No. 2 for trumpet and strings; The Story of the Little Tailor for seven instruments and percussion; two string quartets (1918, 1935), piano trio, concertino for piano and string quartets; sonatas for violin and piano and cello and piano; piano pieces; songs.
