Hasan (625–670)

Eldest grandson of the prophet Muhammad. He was the son of Ali bin Abu Talib and Muhammad's daughter Fatima. He was caliph for six months in 611 AD before resigning. It is through Hasan and his brother Husayn that the descendants of the prophet trace their lineage.
