Hassell, Jon (1937– )

US composer and trumpeter. As a composer and performer he has been involved with minimalism, Balinese music, and electronics. He studied with Karlheinz Stockhausen and Henri Pousseur in Cologne, Germany, and at the Eastman School, New York.

Instrumental

Music for Vibraphones (1965), Blackboard Piece with Girls and Loops (1969), Goodbye Music (1969), Solid State for two synthesizers (1969), Superball (1969), Landscape Series (1969–72).

Other

Sulla strada, theatre piece after Kerouac's On the Road (performed Venice, 1982). Recordings include music from the Far East (Earthquake Island, Aka-Dhari-Java).
