Hausegger, Siegmund von (1872–1948)

Austrian conductor and composer. He studied under his father, a Wagnerian critic, and others. After conducting at Graz he shared the conductorship of the Kaim Orchestra at Munich with Weingartner. He was later in charge of concerts at Frankfurt, Glasgow, Edinburgh (for the Scottish Orchestra), Hamburg, and at Munich again (1920–38).

Works

opera Zinnober (1898), Barbarossa and Natursinfonie, Dionysische Phantasie, Wieland der Schmied and Aufklänge for orchestra; Mass and Requiem; choral works, part-songs.
