Haverford

Township in Delaware County, southeastern Pennsylvania; population (1990) 49,800. Also the name of a residential community in the same area; located within Lower Merion and Haverford townships, Montgomery County, it is an affluent suburb lying some 16 km/10 mi west of Philadelphia, and the seat of Haverford College (founded 1833).
