Joyce, William (1906–1946)

Born in New York, son of a naturalized Irish-born American, he carried on fascist activity in the UK as a ‘British subject’. During World War II he made propaganda broadcasts from Germany to the UK, his upper-class accent earning him the nickname Lord Haw Haw. He was hanged for treason.
