Hawkshaw, John (1811-1891)

English engineer. He constructed several docks, Holyhead Harbour, the Severn Tunnel, Charing Cross, and Cannon Street railway stations, part of the underground railway system in London, England, and also designed a number of bridges in India. Hawkshaw was born in Leeds, England.
