Haydock

Town in Merseyside Metropolitan County, England, 6 km/4 mi northeast of St Helens; population (2001) 11,960. It is near the junction of the M6 motorway and the A580 East Lancashire road, and has a variety of industries. Near to the town is Haydock Park racecourse. Haydock developed as a mining and engineering settlement.
