Hayworth, Rita (1918–1987)US dancer and film actor. She gave vivacious performances in 1940s musicals and played erotic roles in Gilda (1946) and Affair in Trinidad (1952). She was married to Orson Welles 1943–48 and appeared in his film The Lady from Shanghai (1948). She gave assured performances in Pal Joey (1957) and Separate Tables (1958).
