headhunter

Recruitment consultant who adopts a proactive strategy for finding candidates for a position. Unlike conventional recruitment agencies, headhunters use their network of contacts actively to search out a candidate. The prospective candidate will invariably be in work already. Headhunting is an expensive method of tracking down a potential employee. It is a practice frequently used to locate senior executives.
