Headley, George Alphonso (1909–1983)

West Indian cricketer. A brilliant right-handed batsman from Jamaica. Only Don Bradman and Graeme Pollock have exceeded his Test cricket career runs average. In 1948 he became the first black player to captain the West Indies.
