Heinö, Mikko (1958– )

Finnish composer. He studied in Berlin, Germany, and at the Helsinki University, Finland, where he taught from 1977 until 1985, when he became professor of musicology at the University of Turku, Finland. His works include five piano concertos, horn concerto, concerto for orchestra, Brass Mass, and Wind Pictures for choir and orchestra. His books include The Twelve Tone Age in Finnish Music (1986) and Postmodern Features in New Finnish Music (1988).
