Heinecken, Robert

Heinecken, Robert (1931– )

US photographer and teacher. An instructor at the Univirsity of California, Los Angeles (1960), he taught drawing and printmaking before introducing photography into the curriculum in the mid-1960s. He then began combining photography with 3D surfaces to create photo-sculptural collages. He has taught advanced workshops at the George Eastman House, the Arts Institute, and Howard University while continuing to experiment with combining photography and other media. Heinecken was born in Denver, Colorado.
