Helffer, Claude (1922– )

French pianist. He studied with Casadesus and Leibowitz and made his debut in Paris in 1948. He toured widely from the 1960s and gave many performances of works by Amy, Boulez, Ravel, and Barraqué. He played under Berio at the 1989 Salzburg Festival. The complete piano works of Schoenberg and the Boulez sonatas are among his recordings.
