Henman, Tim Henry

Henman, Tim(othy) Henry (1974– )

English tennis player. In 1996 he won a silver medal in the men's doubles at the Atlanta Olympic Games and in January 1997 achieved his first win on the ATP Tour, making it into the top 15 of the world rankings for the first time. In 1998 he reached the semi-finals of the men's singles at Wimbledon, the first Briton to do so for 25 years, and achieved the same feat the following year. In July 2001, he reached his third Wimbledon semi-final, but lost in five sets to the eventual winner Goran Ivanisevic. The following year he again lost in the semi-final to eventual winner Lleyton Hewitt.
