Henniker

Town in Merrimack County, south-central New Hampshire; population (1990) 4,200. Henniker is situated on the Contoocook River, 24 km/15 mi west of Concord.

New England College (founded 1946) is sited in Henniker, and Pat's Peak Ski Area lies immediately south of the town centre. The town is also a summer resort, and produces dairy goods, poultry, lumber, paper, wood products, and yarn. The composer Mrs H H A Beach (1867–1944) was born here.
