Henrico County

Administrative district of east-central Virginia; area 616 sq km/238 sq mi, population (1990) 217,900. Henrico County lies between the Chickahominy and James rivers, and has its seat at Richmond, the state capital.

Henrico County is situated in a region once famous for its tobacco and livestock, but is now largely occupied by suburbs. There are numerous Civil War battle sites here.
