Henry, Pierre (1927- )

French composer. He worked with Pierre Schaeffer at the Groupe de Recherche de Musique Concrète 1950-58; their collaborations include Symphonie pour un homme seul (1950) and the opera Orphée (1953). After leaving Schaeffer's studio he founded a private electroacoustical studio at Apsome in 1958.

He studied with Olivier Messiaen and Nadia Boulanger.

Haut Voltage (1956), Le Voyage (1962), Messe pour le temps présent (1967), and Nijinsky, clown de Dieu (1971).
